NAVEX Global is seeking a Director of Corporate Tax to lead the Company’s global tax compliance function. The Director oversees all tax functions (excluding payroll), including compliance, accounting, forecasting, research and planning, required to meet the Company's tax obligations and to minimize liabilities.
The Director is a key member of the Finance leadership team that is dedicated to the accurate execution of initiatives in support of the Company’s corporate strategy. We are looking for a team member that thrives in a fast-paced and non-routine work environment and that can assume primary responsibility for completing tasks under time constraints. You will utilize your strong interpersonal skills to influence others and be an effective leader whose personal values align with NAVEX Global’s core values. This position reports to the Vice President, Corporate Controller. This role provides an opportunity to leverage your technical knowledge to oversee the complex international tax environment of a dynamic, fast growing software company and interact with senior leadership in a meaningful and highly visible way.

What You Will Do:
Serve as a key technical resource for all tax functions
Ensure tax compliance and accounting requirements are accurately and timely met
Manage both in-house and external tax planning and compliance teams relating to direct and indirect tax compliance deliverables
Ensure significant tax positions are properly researched and documented
Oversee and manage taxing authority and internal/external financial audits
Develop and update tax forecasts to support and align with NAVEX Global’s corporate strategy
Forge strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, external business partners and advisors, and industry groups
Take a significant role in attracting, motivating and developing team members to support the engagement, growth, goal achievement and development of the succession plan and department
Keep informed about changes in tax legislation and identify potential impact to the business for strategic planning purposes
Maintain proper controls over tax accounting and reporting applications and processes, identifying, developing and implementing process improvements and efficiencies
What You Will Need:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance or a related field (post-Bac degree is a plus)
7+ years of corporate tax experience, including in-depth knowledge of income tax accounting (ASC 740), tax research systems and internal controls
3+ years of experience leading and developing teams
Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration, establish credibility, be decisive and articulate issues clearly and concisely
Demonstrated project management experience with proven ability to produce deliverables while managing competing deadlines and priorities – we have a dynamic work environment!
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to engage and collaborate with people across a variety of levels with diverse backgrounds
