GDPR
What is the GDPR
In 2016, the European Union (EU) passed a new, comprehensive data privacy law, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The GDPR goes into effect on May 25, 2018, and expands the rights of EU individuals, and places stringent requirements on organisations that control and/or process personal data.
Importantly, the GDPR applies not only to organisations that are located in the EU, but also to those located outside the EU that offer goods or services to individuals in the EU. NAVEX Global and many of our customers are impacted by the GDPR.
NAVEX Global and the GDPR
Data privacy has been a cornerstone of NAVEX Global solutions from the beginning. NAVEX Global continuously monitors and evaluates all global privacy laws including those that may affect NAVEX Global directly or its customers in their use of our products and services.
NAVEX Global products and services already contain tools which support our customer’s compliance with applicable data privacy and protection requirements of the GDPR. Even so, we are continuously adding new functionality to our products and services to enable our customers improved ease of access to their data to better support their own data privacy needs. As always, we will notify our customers directly when this new functionality becomes available.
