Policy & Procedure Management

Let's talk about strategic approaches to policy and procedure management.

Last year we implemented MetricStream's Policy and Document Management system. As simple as we've tried to make it, it continues to have a host of issues and we're very unhappy with the product. Is anyone using a platform that was easy to implement and is working as expected?

Hey Julia - That sounds frustrating... If you're looking to try something new, NAVEX Global offers a free trial to try out their PolicyTech solution. Here's a link - https://www.navexglobal.com/compliancenext/tools/policy/?topic=&submission_type=&keyword=Get+Free I use it internally and quite like it as an employee. See what you think! :)

Hi Julia, What kind of issues have you had? Do you think there's an appetite to change platforms? Did you transition from a decentralized system to a more centralized system that is requiring more work on the part of end users? We use PolicyTech and have been pretty happy with it. It's been a learning curve for some of our end users, as they would like to work around the system, but that defeats some of the tracking and audit features we were specifically looking for. I'm happy to discuss PolicyTech specifically or, as someone who has worked through a large transition, talk about some thing we did to make the change to increasing governance a little less painful.

We also use Policy Tech and have been very pleased with it. We have implemented our own implementation process so Compliance controls the system and prevents others from working around any system requirements. The beauty of the system is that you can manage all aspects of any document that is placed into it and track its process. You can make it very simple and user friendly to meet your organizations/companies needs. The only drawback to the system is that it requires a lot of time and effort to launch but the implementation team is great and we were able to import and archive all documents from a previous system without any issues.

Quick question. What is the best practice for how much time (days after hire) a new hire is set before all onboarding policies are read and marked read?
