Brandon Young, Executive Director of Human Resources at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, wanted to make sure the university’s policies and procedures were transparent.
He wanted a system that allowed the university to listen to any concerns or questions, and allow them to properly resolve any issues that are brought up.
Many universities deal with similar risk issues – there could be a bias incident on campus, for instance, or the risk of financial misconduct, but not many universities need to take precautions because students are flying aircraft.

Clearly, Embry-Riddle needs to make sure the university provides every opportunity for people to report concerns. After all, if someone were to report something as small as a wrench turn that didn’t go right, the entire fleet of aircraft would be grounded, explains Young.
Safety always comes first at Embry-Riddle, and Young wants everyone at the university to feel confident that people can raise any type of concern – even if they want to do so anonymously. in order to accomplish that, Embry-Riddle needed a method to capture anonymous reports, enabling them to proactively identify and resolve risk issues. After conducting intensive research, the university selected NAVEX Global to provide a solution.

Now, any reported issue enters the incident management system, based categorizations that are important to the University. Report notifications are instantly routed to the appropriate people and departments, allowing the university to quickly become aware of issues and respond in a timely manner.
The online capabilities of incident management software fit well with the University’s technology- oriented environment. Gauging the Results
