Mark Reed
Chief Executive Officer
Mark brings more than 30 years of high-technology management and consulting experience to his leadership role. A veteran of the technology industry, Mark has served as vice president of marketing and sales for a former division of General Electric, as senior vice president of sales, marketing and services for InFocus Systems and as the CEO of that company's first acquisition, Genigraphics Corporation.
Since forming High Ground Partners LLC, a consulting group, in 1997, Mark has led and advised a variety of technology and services companies in the Pacific Northwest. He served in the capacity of chairman, CEO, president and senior vice president for companies including: Lightware Inc., EnvoyGlobal.com, Webtrends, @Once, and Pneu-Logic Corporation. He has also undertaken strategic consulting projects with Symantec, NetIQ, info USA, SAP America, Pacstar, Lightspeed and several others.
Mark attended the University of Wisconsin on an athletic scholarship and has an undergraduate degree in business. He also completed the Stanford Graduate Program on Executive Leadership in 1994. Mark currently serves on several corporate and non-profit boards. He also serves as a guest lecturer on the topic of "High Performance Leadership" at George Fox University's Graduate School of Management.
Shanti Atkins
President and Chief Strategy Officer
Shanti has been an innovator in the GRC space for more than a decade, designing powerful ethics and compliance solutions for employers that maximize defenses while creating a culture of ethics, inclusion and respect. A former attorney, Shanti regularly advises clients regarding strategic risk management initiatives and workplace compliance. In her role, Shanti is also keenly involved in the strategic direction of product and learning services, as well as the company's M&A and major partner relationships.
Shanti received her Masters of Law (LL.M.) from Harvard University, specializing in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and corporate risk management. At Harvard she was a Viscount Bennett Fellow and served on the Harvard Negotiation Law Review. Shanti received her J.D. from Queen's University (Canada) and her B.A. (Film) from Queen's University (Canada) where she was a Queen's National Scholar.
Well-known in the legal, ethics and HR communities, Shanti has been a featured expert for a wide variety of media outlets, including the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Corporate Counsel, Inside Counsel and HR Magazine, among others. Shanti is also a frequent lecturer and writer for several prominent professional associations.
Nick Ciancio
SVP, Global Alliances
Nick has more than 25 years of experience in senior marketing and business development positions in the telecommunications and technology industries.
Previously, Nick served as vice president of corporate integration and infrastructure development at Ethernet networking services provider, Yipes Enterprise Service. Before Yipes, he served as chief marketing officer for Curiosity.com, and previously held the title of vice president of new product and business development for US West Communications. Nick began his telecommunications career with Pacific Bell, serving as director of marketing, and he was subsequently promoted to executive director of new product development.
Before entering telecommunications, Nick served as a mathematical statistician for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Nick holds a M.A. in Statistics from Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts.
Steve Chapman
SVP, Services
Steve has 17 years of experience in business consulting, business operations management, strategic planning and organizational change management. Since starting EthicsPoint's professional services team in 2008, the organization has grown by more than 300 percent, a testament to his leadership and carefully cultivated team of consultants.
Prior to his current role, Steve worked as a change management consultant with Accenture, specializing in the implementation of enterprise software product and solutions. Steve also founded and contributed to the successful start-up of Aon Safetylogic.com, an application service provider of integrated risk control management solutions for Fortune 2000 corporations, loss prevention firms and the insurance carrier markets.
Steve holds a B.S. in Marketing and Management from the University of Oregon.
Bob Conlin
Chief Products Officer
Bob brings more than 20 years of senior management experience in technology sales, marketing and business development to his role. Leveraging that experience, Bob owns responsibility for charting solutions strategy and managing the marketing, product management and business solutions teams.
Previously, Bob served as vice president of marketing and business development at Accero, a global provider of human capital management solutions. Before joining Accero, he served as the chief marketing officer at Boston-based Centive, where he led the successful transformation of the company from enterprise software to a pure-play SaaS provider and created a new product category – On-Demand Sales Performance Management. Prior to Centive, Bob held senior sales and marketing management positions at Infinium Software, a publicly traded ERP software vendor, Cort Directions and Myriad/OrCom Systems.
A graduate of Oregon State University, Bob is a frequent speaker at industry events and has been published in numerous business journals including CRM Magazine, Technology for Finance, Benefits and Compensation Solutions, Workspan and Workforce Solutions.
John Hall
Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer
Leveraging more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in the areas of sales, marketing and business development, John is responsible for the oversight of the company's ethics program in addition to corporate development and strategic relationships. John has the designation as a "Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional" (CCEP), is a member the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), Open Compliance and Ethics Group (OCEG), and the International Association of Privacy Practitioners (IAPP).
John has focused the past 20 years on developing early-stage companies into market leaders. He pioneered the prepaid phone card industry and has driven the sales, marketing, and business development efforts for several other growth-oriented firms helping them increase profitability, sustainability, and market leadership in each of their respective industries.
John has also been active in nonprofit organizations focused on helping children. He is an advisor to a number of nonprofits such the Luis Palau Association, and he currently serves as the regional board chair for Young Life.
Bob McCarter
Chief Technology Officer
Bob McCarter has 19 years of experience in database and information systems development and product and service technology development. His current focus is on creating and supporting the technology infrastructure necessary to deliver innovative products and services globally.
Bob assumed the role of vice president, information technology and product development in September 2003 with Global Compliance Services. Prior to this, he served with Global Compliance's former parent company, Pinkerton, Inc., in the position of chief technology officer within Pinkerton's Consulting and Investigations division. Previously Bob held the role of director of strategic initiatives and information systems architect for Pinkerton Services Group.
Prior to joining Pinkerton, Bob performed system design and project management on large-scale fluid dynamics and environmental remediation projects at the University of California at Berkeley. Formerly, he had served as an information systems consultant for Six R Communications and BellSouth and also held the title of equipment engineering manager for BellSouth.
Bob holds B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Duke University.
Tom McNamara
SVP, Global Sales
With more than 20 years of experience in sales and sales management, Tom brings an unprecedented level of expertise and knowledge in opening and serving new markets.
Prior to his current role, Tom spent 12 years with the Xerox Corporation in a variety of sales management positions, including account manager, product specialist and sales agency president. In 2002, he joined Associated Business Systems (ABS) where he played a key management role in the company's growth from $15 million to $45 million dollars in annual revenue during his six-year tenure.
Tom holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Oregon State University.
Carrie Penman
President, ELG/Senior Vice President, Advisory Services
Carrie does custom ethics consulting work for clients in the areas of program and culture assessment, communications, executive and all-employee training and program strategy and integration. She also serves as a government-approved monitor/external ethics advisor for several companies with government administrative agreements.
Previously, Carrie served as the deputy director and ethics officer of the Ethics and Compliance Officers Association (ECOA) from 2000 to 2003. Prior to joining the ECOA, Carrie served as the director of the corporate ethics office for Westinghouse Electric Corporation from 1994 to 1999. In that position, she developed and implemented the first Westinghouse comprehensive and corporation-wide ethics and compliance program for a global employee population of 76,000 in diverse business segments including defense and government-related operations.
Carrie is currently an Executive Fellow at the Bentley University Center for Business Ethics. She previously served on the ECOA board of directors and its executive committee; participated as an advisor for the research project on ethics programs, "The Role of the Board," conducted by The Conference Board; and served on the Advisory Board for the Duquesne University Beard Center for Leadership in Ethics.
Carrie is a frequent speaker at ECOA, Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), and Conference Board events, as well as other ethics conferences and forums. A graduate of Purdue University, Carrie holds a B.S. in Textile Science.
Craig Stoehr
Chief Financial Officer
Craig is the newest addition to the executive team at NAVEX Global. With more than 20 years of financial expertise, he brings extensive experience in corporate development, strategic planning, business partnering, financial planning & analysis, treasury, financial control and investor relations to his role as CFO.
Craig previously worked with FLIR Systems – a $1.5 billion global manufacturer of thermal imaging systems – where he was vice president of finance with their Commercial Systems Division. There, he was responsible for the financial operations of a $700 million multinational division that included three business units, several operating units and 1,500 employees. Prior to that, Craig led the M&A and investor relations functions, making several strategic acquisitions and significantly expanding the shareholder base.
Prior to joining FLIR, Craig held various senior positions in finance, corporate development and investor relations at ESI, InFocus and Intel. He is a C.P.A., holds a B.S. from Cal Poly and an M.B.A from Stanford University.
