Today, The Oregonian ran a significant piece on our new place in the Oregon technology economy, “NAVEX Global emerges: Instantly among Oregon’s biggest software companies.” As the headline indicates, the mergers have made us close to the largest software company in the region and we’re proud to have our headquarters here.
It’s a well-worn tale in the Silicon Forest — a buyer acquires a promising Oregon technology business, rolls it into a larger company, and the Oregon office all but vanishes.
In Lake Oswego, the company formerly known as EthicsPoint is working to turn that story on its head.
Sold in February to a private equity firm called The Riverside Company, EthicsPoint joined an assemblage of three similar businesses that also offered technology or services to help monitor workplace behavior — and to correct problems as soon as they emerge.
